HOYA engineers have developed a new ANTISTATIC coating that acts like a force field around the filter to repel dust. In addition, the hardened anti-static topcoat is water repellent, stain and scratch resistant, and easy to clean if stains or fingerprints get on the surface. Circular polarizing filters allow photographers to achieve creative, in-camera effects that are not possible once the image is created. A polarizing filter filters unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass, as well as light that reflects moisture and contaminants in the atmosphere. By rotating the ultra-smooth filter, you can select just the right amount of filtering needed for the creative effect. The new professional anti-static filters in the "FUSION Antistatic" series are made in Japan from hand-selected silicates that are carefully melted and blended to create a high-performance optical glass. HOYA then applies extreme care and precision to apply the enhanced 18-layer Super Multi-Coating (both sides) formula, which greatly reduces or eliminates reflections on the glass surface and achieves very high light transmission rates.
